Yes! Without a will, state law decides who gets your assets and who raises your kids. A simple will costs $300–$1,000 and prevents chaos.
That’s one of the most important questions you can ask, and the answer depends on the life you want. My role is to help you define that vision, understand what it will cost, and evaluate whether your current savings, income sources, and investments can support it. The goal is simple: to give you clarity and confidence so you can live life on your terms.
Creating a lasting legacy is a common goal for our clients. Wanting to ensure their wealth lasts leads to conversations about trusts, tax strategies, multigenerational governance, and long-term stewardship.
Legally minimizing taxes and optimizing overall financial structure is a delicate process. Tactful forethought of not just your tax situation, but also the anticipated landscape of taxes for future generations, can be the difference between a single generation of wealth and a lasting legacy.

Founder
Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Sean A. Hummel, CFP®, grew up with a strategist's mind and a heart for service. A collegiate athlete and Eagle Scout, he learned early how to stay calm under pressure, lead with intention, and help others rise to their challenges. Those qualities ultimately drew him toward personal financial planning in college, where he realized his natural strengths in strategy and problem-solving could make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
Sean began his career with McKinley Capital Management in Anchorage and later joined Merrill Lynch, where he helped clients navigate their most important financial decisions. Over time, however, he saw the industry drifting away from authentic personal service. Determined to change that, he first launched Hummel Planning and later founded Ten Ring Wealth Advisors in 2025; an independent, flat-fee, fee-only firm built to restore transparency, precision, and unwavering client-first guidance.
Today, Sean leads Ten Ring with the same intentionality he brings to his life outside the office, where he and his wife, Aly (often with their golden-doodle Avicii in tow) travel the world, hike mountain ranges, scuba dive, ski, and explore new cultures. A passionate archer and lifelong adventurer, Sean channels that same focus and discipline into helping families achieve true financial sovereignty. At Ten Ring, his mission is simple: empower clients to live life on their terms, aim boldly at their goals, and hit the bullseye with confidence.
